Kona coffee is one of the most expensive in the world, international connoisseurs are willing to pay top-dollar for the highest grade of Kona (Extra-Fancy).

The Hawaiian Kona Greenwell Farm is a renowned coffee farm located in the Kona district on the western slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano, which provides rich volcanic soil and a unique microclimate ideal for coffee cultivation. The Kona Coffee Belt, where the farm is located, stretches approximately 30 miles along the coast and is characterized by its ideal combination of elevation, temperature, rainfall, and sunshine.

The Greenwell Farm coffee is grown at an elevation ranging from 500 to 2,500 feet above sea level. The varying altitudes within this range contribute to the diversity of flavors found in the coffee, as different elevations can affect the ripening process of the coffee cherries, resulting in nuanced taste profiles.

The Greenwell Farm is still family-run, and has a rich history that dates back to the 1850s when Henry Nicholas Greenwell, an Englishman, established the farm. The Greenwell family has been involved in coffee farming for generations, and their legacy is deeply intertwined with the history of Kona coffee.
