Sumatran Aceh Gayo GLBS SC20+ is a specialty coffee grown by smallholder farmers in the southern part of the Gayo Lues and Bener Meriah Selatan (GLBS) regencies in the Aceh province of Sumatra, Indonesia. These areas are renowned for producing some of the highest quality coffee in the world

SC20+ is a grading system used to evaluate the quality of coffee beans. This grading system has been set by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), which rates coffee beans based on factors such as aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and aftertaste. Sumatran Aceh Gayo GLBS SC20+ has scored at least 80 points on this scale, which is the minimum threshold to be classified as Specialty Grade.

The unique processing method of Sumatran Aceh Gayo GLBS contributes to its distinctive flavor profile. The coffee beans undergo wet-hulling, which removes the outer skin of the coffee cherry before letting the beans ferment in water. This process creates a rich and full-bodied coffee that has low acidity and earthy notes. Sumatran Aceh Gayo GLBS is known for its complex flavor profile, which includes notes of dark chocolate, cedar, and spice, with a syrupy mouthfeel that is often described as creamy. The coffee has a long and pleasant finish, with no lingering bitterness.

Sumatran Aceh Gayo GLBS SC20+ is Rainforest Alliance Certified and Organic, which ensures that the coffee is grown using sustainable and ethical farming practices that preserve the environment and the well-being of the farmers and their communities.
